Mr. Abdi A. Mohamud, MBS, is the Chief Executive Officer of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) from January 2025. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Director in charge of Investigation at the EACC.
Prior to joining the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission in 2005, Mr. Mohamud had served in the National Police Service for almost two decades where rose through the ranks.
Owing to his outstanding contribution in the fight against corruption, he was conferred with the national honours of Head of State Commendation (HSC) and Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) by the Head of State and Government.
Mr. Mohamud is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a seasoned investigator with a wealth of experience spanning over three decades in corruption and economic crimes investigation. Additionally, Mr. Mohamud has undergone various trainings both locally and internationally on diverse aspects of corruption investigation and prevention.
Mr. Mohamud also holds a Master of Science Degree in Security and Risk Management from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, Bachelor of Laws Degree from Mt. Kenya University and Professional Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
